Throwing on the wheel

Hand Building and Wheel Throwing for Beginning Students

This class is an introduction to clay.  We will be learning to use the wheel to throw functional pottery. We have 6 wheels. Come learn how to make mugs, and bowls. This course can be a refresher for your throwing skills if you already know how to use the wheel. Use the slab roller, or pinch and coil techniques to create forms by hand, a three legged nut bowl, a square box or other cool forms. We will discuss surface treatment with glazes and underglaze colors and fire the work oxidation to cone 6.
