Create a custom ceramic moxa tray and water bowl designed specifically for your use. Learn slab and pinch hand-building techniques while crafting beautiful, functional plate and bowls that bring your personal touch to the tools of your practice.

2nd Annual Great Pottery Throw Down
October 24th 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Come watch four accomplished potters compete in an exciting mud-slinging competition. They will showcase their skill and craftsmanship for the grand prize: a homemade fruit pie served in a handcrafted Art Alley pie dish!
In addition to the main competition, you can play with clay at our designated worktables, try your hand at the potter’s wheel and sign up for a chance to compete in a second-string contest following the main event.
Please remember to bring your ticket, a chair for seating, cash for drinks and for our raffle, where you can vote for your favorites and enter for a chance to win a handmade Art Alley Studio pottery prize.

The Art of Silver Metal Clay

Discover the magic of Silver Metal Clay and create your own fine silver pendant in this hands-on workshop! Perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike, you’ll learn essential techniques including texturing, sculpting, sanding, torch firing, and polishing. Using premium Art Clay Fine Silver (.999), you’ll transform soft clay into a beautiful, solid silver pendant that you’ll take home the same day. All tools and silver clay are provided, making this an exciting introduction to the art of precious metal clay jewelry.
Instructor, Trudy Spillane is an accomplished Gainesville jewelry artist with more than 30 years of teaching experience. Specializing in precious metal clay, wire wrapping, and forged metals, she is passionate about helping students create beautiful, handcrafted jewelry while building confidence in new techniques.

Make a Plaster Slab
Instructor: Allison LeBaron
$50 includes plaster
We will make a plaster slab used for recycling wet clay. Bring a form in which to pour the plaster. This can be a box lined with a plastic bag or a hard plastic carry all bin. The optimal size is around 12″ x 24″. Pick the size of the form based on the size of your storage space and your ability to handle the heaviness.
